old school Peter Pan

I'm always up for a spin on an old fairy tale. But honestly, I've had my fill of the Disney-ified version of Peter, Tink, and the gang. The real characters (meaning the original J. M. Barrie versions) were so much more intriguing, deeper... darker. I was curious to see what author Brom would do with the tale. I was not disappointed! Brom went old school and how!! It was actually a 'modern' version but very true to the nature of the original. And very true to the nature of children. The very dark, manipulative, mob-mentality, instant-bonding traits of children. The illustrations were captivating. The novel was a brutally honest, realistic fantasy. Vivid. Striking. Ready for more.

    Read any good books lately?

I read more than just classic novels. This is where I post about recent books I have read. Have you read the same book? Got a different opinion? Let me know! I'd love to hear about it.
