Remarkable Creatures

Remarkable Creatures by a remarkable writer. I have read several books by Tracy Chevalier and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. Ms. Chevalier has an amazing ability to completely transport you into an historic era and make you feel at home. It is never stuffy or foreign. You truly feel part of the setting. Ms. Chevalier's style of story telling is to take an actual historic person/object/event and weave a 'possible reality' around it to bring it all to vivid life. (A very lame way to describe truly wonderful talent.) I absolutely loved Falling Angels which I am now re-reading as a refresher for my upcoming "Naughty Women, Lovely Tea" presentation. I also very much enjoyed The Lady and the Unicorn. If you would like the experience of walking a mile in Victorian boots or 15th century silk slippers, if you would like to read a very enjoyable story and get a history lesson without realizing it, do yourself a favor and pick up on of Tracy Chevalier's lovely novels.

    Read any good books lately?

I read more than just classic novels. This is where I post about recent books I have read. Have you read the same book? Got a different opinion? Let me know! I'd love to hear about it.
