I'm trying to get through The Mystery of Edwin Drood because I've come across another novel titled Drood by Dan Simmons that sounds really interesting. " Based on actual biographical events, Drood explores the still-unresolved mysteries of one of our greatest writer's dark final days in a profoundly original tale..." Creepy neat, huh? And it was on sale for $8!!! But I needed to take two steps back and read Dickens' original (his last and unfinished) novel first. I've read many of Dickens' novels (Great Expectations, A Christmas Carol, Oliver Twist, etc) but The Mystery of Edwin Drood hasn't been one of them. Until now. But it's hard to get through because I am terribly distracted being in the middle of rehearsals for a musical that opens in one week. YIKES! I will keep you all updated as I inch my way though it.
UPDATE 7/30/12: I'm one of those rare people that don't own a Kindle or Nook or any kind of electronic book thingie. I say it's because I'm an old romantic and there's something about holding a real book in one's hands. (And I'll keep saying it until I get enough money to justify purchasing an electronic book thingie!) I still use the library. I borrowed The Mystery of Edwin Drood from the library. I had to return it before I'd finished. I know I could download it for free. (Please re-read previous statement.) All of this to say, I haven't finished it yet. But I'll get there. And I'll let you know when I do. Promise.

Read any good books lately?
I read more than just classic novels. This is where I post about recent books I have read. Have you read the same book? Got a different opinion? Let me know! I'd love to hear about it. Archives
